Well, I've had a pretty big responsibility since my earliest memories, to be honest. I'm the guardian of an extremely powerful artifact. Possibly the most powerful artifact to ever have existed.

Well, it's not something I talk about in full with a lot of folks. But I'm pretty sure I can trust you. The artifact I guard is called the Master Emerald - It's a huge gemstone containing almost limitless power. Enough to lift a small continent into the sky, or grant God-like powers to someone who can tap into it's energies in the right way. It's tied into the tale of my people and, sadly, was their undoing. My role in life is to keep it from falling into the wrong hands and bringing the world to ruin.

That's why I even came to this school - To become a stronger and better Guardian and do my duty better than ever. To protect the world from it's own greed... you're right. Power like that corrupts way too easily. It has to be protected and used only ever sparingly and for good.

I've used it to help me put him back in his place once or twice, yeah. Again, sparingly. It's one of his goals in life to take it from me and use it to power war machines - he's done so temporarily in the past.

I'm not really a sciencey kinda guy, so I couldn't tell you in like... watts or amps or anything. But like I said, it's used to keep a small continent airborne and does so with ease, and Eggman has used it to power giant robots with huge laser canons before now. The robot was about fifty to sixty feet high and had other weapons too. I have also used it to power my Autoshop project.

...I will tell you this because I trust you. I have constructed a device that I believe will be instrumental in creating a peaceful world. I do not ask this lightly, but do so with the full knowledge that you may turn away at the mere mention.

It must be powered. Currently my plan was to divert power from the school in order to do so, but if that source could be used...if you could lend me that power...I would be able to run it without disruption.

It will be used twice, each time for less than twenty minutes. I will return it to you between uses if you wish.

You are free to decline and I will simply go about my initial plan.

Huh... well... that sounds interesting. I mean, it could power pretty much anything you made. And the idea of some kinda Peace Machine is pretty amazing.

I guess my main question is what does the machine DO exactly?

Oh, and yeah, I'd need it back between uses... I keep it pretty heavily locked up. Also, we'd have to do any of this at night to prevent too many people seeing me move it. It's large.

It is...difficult to explain, in truth.

To be direct, it contains the most valuable information the world holds, and uses that information to create peace. How it does so...the data held within brings forth the most basic states of life. That of will, that of wisdom...even that of emotion.

You know my disdain for emotion. Yet I recognize that it is a part of this world. This device records those most basic of traits and uses it to appeal to those within others.
