There will be no classroom meeting tomorrow.

However, do not mistake this for a lack of a session. I instruct you all to meet with me in this entry and discuss, privately, your visions for a greater world. What you believe would make it ideal. Those things you would keep, those things you would alter, those things you would rid us of entirely. Be as detailed as you will, but approach it from an ethical standpoint.

I do so privately and virtually because I wish to free you from your inhibitions, that you may speak your minds without fear of judgment from your classmates. This will exist between only you and me.

You may do so at any time this week; however, I will expect all to have discussed such things with me by class time next week.

Proper judgment, every ruler's gotta have that. Being fair, treating people equally, but you have to think of the whole greater good too. Helping all of the people as much as you can without being impractical, you know? Make em happy, but protect em too.

Begin, if you will, with the conclusion that an ideal world would still contain enemies that would require an army to defend against. Detail entirely how those concepts could coexist.

Well, my ideal doesn't only exist of my country and how it works. There's going to be conflict, and that might mean someone has to go fight. It's not like there aren't people who like to fight, or like to defend their country, if I take them away then are the people really happy? Maybe that army isn't required, but it's a precaution. Saying that there's never going to be an enemy or disagreement just doesn't sound right to me, since there always has been - and probably will always continue. Being practical in that ideal, still works doesn't it?

Maybe an ideal world can't be ideal forever, with all of the things that I said, but it can be at times. You know what I mean?
